Superbugs And Antibiotic Treatment

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) simply recently launched a caution about a certain strain of microorganisms that is wreaking havoc in health care centers throughout the U.S. It is called Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae, or CRE for brief. The name of the germs comes from prescribed antibiotics called carbapenems. They are medicines of desperate remedy when other prescribed antibiotics do not deal with an infection. Sadly, these germs are now revealing resistance to carbapenems. The CDC is stressed since that indicates this stress of bacteria is now resistant to nearly all prescribed antibiotics presently conveniently offered.

Germs like the CREs are normally called superbugs due to the fact that they are so difficult to remove.

Physicians are utilizing an antibiotic called polymixin due to the fact that definitely nothing else will stem the infection.

The option for some patients becomes death by germs or kidney failure.

Good and bad bacteria

Germs are among the earth’s earliest and most basic life kinds. We would not make it with without these little life kinds, but some of them cause infection, conditions, as well as death.

Germs reproduce through a procedure called binary fission. Each cell grows to a certain size, copies its hereditary material, then splits in 2. They do this rapidly. A colony of bacterial cells can increase in a matter of minutes. This quick entertainment recommends that bacteria can advance quickly also. This is the key to antibiotic resistance.

Prescription antibiotics

Called antimicrobial medicines, antibiotics are medications that battle bacterial infections by eliminating bacterial cells. The first medical use of prescribed antibiotics took place in the 1940s and it transformed medicine. Prior to prescription antibiotics, death from bacterial infection was normal.

Discover How To Make Your Own Emergency Remedies For Use In Any Survival Situation …

Different antibiotics perform in different ways . Quinolones and sulfonamides meddle with enzymes in bacterial cells. Some antibiotics are narrow-spectrum, indicating they target one or two kinds of germs, while others are broad-spectrum and remove a variety of microorganisms.

Antibiotic overuse can kill us

Prior to CRE, the issue was VRE microorganisms, and prior to that MRSA, or resistant staph bacteria. The reason that these bacteria become resistant to a prescribed antibiotic is due to the fact that they divide and reproduce rapidly and advance rapidly.

We have really promoted this advancement of antibiotic resistance by overusing the medicines that are not handling some microorganisms. Whenever bacterial cells are exposed to prescription antibiotics and endure, they have the chance to advance resistance. They can change their enzymes, their proteins, or their cell walls in order to overcome the drug. The more we use antibiotics, the more possibilities the germs need to develop and alter.

This capability to rapidly develop in the face of an antibiotic is why the medicines include a caution to finish the course of prescription antibiotics.

If you have ever taken antibiotics, your physician alerted you to keep taking the complete course, even if you begin to feel better.

Taking the full course ensures that you eliminate every one of the infecting bacteria.

If you do not kill them all, the ones that make it with can advance to develop resistance to that drug, and your infection will return, more effective than ever.

When we overuse prescribed antibiotics, we do this on an around the world scale and develop superbugs that can not be eliminated with any antibiotic we have.

What we need to do

The solution to the concern is to restrict using antibiotics to circumstances where they are really required.

For instance, many individuals confuse germs with viruses. Viruses are diffrent from germs. They are smaller sized along with simpler than microorganisms. Unlike germs, they can not live long outside the body .

Viruses trigger disease and condition, however they can not be eliminated by prescription antibiotics.

Usually individuals see their physician when they are sick and are suggested prescribed antibiotics when actually, the infection is viral.

The cold, for instance, is viral, not bacterial.

Physicians suggest prescription antibiotics anyway due to the truth that it makes clients feel much better to have some type of “treatment.” The practice must stop.

Another overuse of prescription antibiotics is the occurrance of antibacterial soaps. Cleaning your hands completely with warm water and regular soap suffices to suitably eliminate microorganisms. Using prescription antibiotics in soaps is not needed and has actually just added to antibiotic-resistant stress.

Another source of overuse of prescription antibiotics is with Stock that are pumped with antibiotics to avoid disease.

According to the FDA, agriculture use 30 million pounds of prescribed antibiotics every year. Those prescribed antibiotics wind up in the food and water supply.

Stop using antibacterial soaps, just utilize a course of prescribed antibiotics when it is needed, and stop supporting production facility ranches.

It is essential to bear in mind that you ought to use antibiotics when they are required. If everyone utilizes prescription antibiotics smartly and simply when required, we can stop these superbugs from forming.

Joint pain, whether it is from arthritis or a niggling pain that you cannot quite put your finger on can be annoying. The problem is that doctors can do very little to help you, except to give you painkillers to help you deal with it. There are a number of issues with using prescription medication and over-the-counter drugs to aid with joint pain relief, and it leads to many people looking for natural remedies to help them.

The Problems with Medication

Painkillers do not actually attack the area that is joint pain.

While you may be suffering from fatigue and joint pain, the medication will actually tackle a part of your brain.

It closes the receptor of pain so you do not actually feel it yourself – quite scary when you think about it.

Taking too much medication is dangerous. There are a lot of things that can go wrong and even just taking the recommended two aspirin a day, four times a day is dangerous for some people. It can lead to strokes, heart attacks and death. Therefore, it is often best to look for other options to help deal with your joint pain.

Take a Warm Bath

You will be surprised at what a warm bath can do for you. The water will support your weight, which will help offer some joint pain relief. The heat also gives your muscles a chance to relax, which leads to relieving some of the joint pain you may experience.

If a bath is not possible, consider going swimming. This is a great joint pain exercise as it will support your whole body while you are still getting some exercise in.

When suffering from fatigue and joint pain, it is common for people to lay around the house and do nothing, thinking that it is the best thing.

However some light joint pain exercise is sometimes the best thing that you can do.

If you are in doubt, talk to your doctor about what he or she thinks about swimming exercises and whether it will help with joint pain relief.

Massage the Affected Area

Sometimes, just a massage on the joints will help to relieve the pain. This is something to consider and is relatively easy to do. If you do decide to do joint pain exercise, you should do this afterwards since it will stop the lactic acid building up in your muscles.

The benefit of a massage is that it gets your blood flowing, which natural helps with fatigue and joint pain and leads to some relief. The pressure on the muscles will also do you some good since a lot of joint pain is linked to the muscles and ligaments around the joints.

The following is a testimony to the value of good fresh Ionized water .

“Getting plenty of freshly ionized, alkalized water daily is, as far as I am concerned, a basic health requirement. It was one of those things that once I started, I could never stop, or ever consider going back to even the finest drinking water commercially available. I have never tasted anything any better either. Having an ionizer was one of the most successful health investments I have ever made. I am no less excited about ionized water than when I first started producing my own from tap water back in May, 2002. Water ionizers literally turn ordinary tap water into something quite valuable and quite extraordinary. Russell Symonds, http://WholeJoy.com HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE “In December 1986 I was introduced to a water ionizer by a friend of mine in Virginia. She told me that the alkaline water from this ionizer would lower my blood pressure if I drank 5 cups of it daily. In those days I was taking 20mg of Vasotec a day to maintain my blood pressure at around 140/90. Vasotec was my third kind of blood pressure pill. The doctor had to change my blood pressure pills twice because of different kinds of side effects. I never liked the idea of having to take any pills for the rest of my life. Thats what the doctor told me when he initially prescribed the blood pressure pills for me. My friend didnt know exactly why the blood pressure would come down except for the fact that she knew it worked for many people. Trusting her sincerity and knowing she was a registered nurse, I bought the ionizer and started to drink high pH alkaline water. As I was drinking the alkaline water I monitored my blood pressure. I reduced the amount of Vasotec gradually as the blood pressure started to come down. After six weeks, I stopped taking Vasotec altogether. My blood pressure came down to 130/85 without my pills. In the meantime, over a period of two years, I lost about 20 pounds without any special diets or exercises. Lately I am noticing that my eyesight is improving.” Sang Wang, Miami, USA (This person was on high blood pressure meds 12yrs, experiencing lots of side-effects including pain in extremities and bad headaches and now, because of this water, NO meds! No pains, either! She was also getting bloated, needed meds to clear out the water retention in her body. Her doc can’t believe it, says no one ever gets off them once on them. She says more–way more–energy also. Her mom is elderly, also getting great effects for her health.) Miguel Angel Rivera, Massachusetts. ”

Oregano is a healing herb and natural anti-biotic. How is it that sometimes we completely overlook the benefits of the better things in life, like oregano that we can use regularly in recipes while enjoying this amazing healing herb called oregano.

(NaturalNews) Oregano is a wonderful, aromatic herb that is native to the Mediterranean. It is thought to have originated in the mountainous regions of Greece, Turkey and Italy. It was named by the Ancient Greeks “Mountain Joy.” Oregano is one of the most powerful healing herbs and natural anti-biotics ever studied.
, grilled/roasted vOregano has a warming and aromatic flavor to it. It can be very hot and bitter at times when it is picked fresh. The bite usually wanes as it is dried. Oregano became a staple of Italian-American foods. American soldiers who were stationed in Europe during World War II brought oregano back as the “pizza herb.” It was soon used in more popularity in pastaseggies, meat & fish. It is also popularly used in meat marinates and salad dressings.

Oregano Oil is an extraordinarily powerful natural anti-biotic. Oregano has been found in a recent study to be significantly better than all of the 18 currently used anti-biotics in the treatment of MRSA staph infections. The strong phenol anti-oxidants destroy pathogenic bacteria, viruses and yeasts.

Incredible anti-oxidant capacity
This super herb is very rich in anti-oxidant phytochemical flavonoids and phenolic acids. It is the third highest herb in oxygen radical absorbancy capacity (ORAC) with an impressive score of 200,129. Oregano is one of the world’s greatest sources of the powerful phenol component thymol. Thymol is great for improving digestive function as well as destroying harmful microbes.

The USDA ranks oregano’s antioxidant capacity anywhere from 3 to 20 times higher than any other herb. Oregano has four times the antioxidant power of blueberries, 12 times that of oranges and 42 times greater than apples.

Oregano oil has been classically used as a disinfectant, an aid for ear, nose, & throat/respiratory infections, candida, and any sort of bacterial or viral conditions. Additionally, it works to suppress inflammatory mediators and cancer cell production. Oregano oil is more potent than the dried herb; however, the dried version still contains many powerful health benefits.

Some studies have shown that carvacrol, a phenol anti-oxidant within oregano has powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial activity when applied to food or taken in supplement form.

Use dried oregano on vegetables, meat dishes and salads. Oregano oil can be used as an aromatic essential oil and/or as a medicinal. Simply put a dash behind your ear and a dash on your neck. Strong oregano oil may burn a little but will wear down in a few seconds. One could also ingest oregano oil – 1-5 small drops in a glass of water as it is particularly strong.

Read this article and carefully consider switching to herbal medications.

There is now more evidence than ever why people are returning to age old herbal medications as chemical medication is increasingly a serious health problem.

The following article is taken from the well know ‘HIS e-alert, it highlights the problems with chemical substitutes for herbal medications .
In Today’s Issue 9 May 2012′

by Francois Lubbe
UK Editor

Doctors Question Current Medical Guidelines
Dear Reader,

Earlier this week, we reported on our blog The Cholesterol Truth, how a professor of medicine and cardiologist at the Yale University School of Medicine, Harlan Krumholz, wrote an open letter to a group of US experts responsible for setting cholesterol guidelines. Prof Krumholz attacked the cholesterol hypothesis, which so many medical professionals strongly believe in: that treating high cholesterol and lowering it to so-called ‘healthy’ levels is beneficial for us all.

Now, hold that thought.

In other news, the Association of Educational Psychologists (AEP) said earlier this week that there is a worrying new trend among its members to increase Ritalin dosages for children as young as six years old, despite the serious risk of known side effects like suicidal thoughts. Ritalin is used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Common denominator

At a glance these two news reports seem completely unrelated. After all, lowering cholesterol and taking a mood stabilising drug like Ritalin have nothing in common, right? However, there is a common denominator here… and that is the fact that medical experts are starting to question well-established mainstream practices.

For instance, in his letter Prof Krumholz highlights three very important reasons why the mainstream’s approach to lowering cholesterol is completely outdated:

* Guidelines for cholesterol lowering targets are not supported by any scientific evidence

* The aggressive treatment of cholesterol has not been proven to be safe practice

* Treatment should be tailored on a patient’s overall risk of cardiovascular disease, instead of using a blanket approach of simply lowering cholesterol levels

In the case of Ritalin, the mainstream is under attack for prescribing mood stabilising drugs, like Ritalin, to children as young as six and under, when guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommend that it should not be prescribed to pre-school children. In fact, Dave Traxson, an educational psychologist who works across schools in the West Midlands, says that psychiatrists are violating NICE guidelines, which stress that children who show evidence of anxiety should not be put on Ritalin-type stimulant drugs.

It seems that it all comes down to guidelines… some in the mainstream follow them, others invent their own and some have decided to ignore them altogether! I cannot help but wonder why they even bother to lay down guidelines in the first place, when clearly some doctors and scientists believe they have free reign to make up their own rules as they go along… while many patients’ lives are being put at risk.

Something much more sinister

There may even be a much more sinister link here… Studies have shown how cholesterol-lowering statin drugs can cause homicidal impulses, violence towards family members, property damage and other threatening behaviours.

You may think this is a long shot, because children certainly don’t take statins. However about two years ago, I first told you how the manufacturers of Lipitor, a top-selling statin drug, launched chewable statins for children… which obviously helps fuel the mainstream’s relentless ‘statins-for-all’ craze.

In fact, a recent report from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), in the US, recommends that all children aged 9-11 should be screened for raised cholesterol levels. Back in 2008, NICE backed the American Academy of Paediatrics, when they suggested that obese children (some as young as eight years old), should receive cholesterol-lowering drugs… despite the lack of information available about the safety of long-term use of these drugs in children.

Considering that children as young as 8 may be given statins and the fact that these drugs can cause behavioural problems, the next logical step in mainstream medicine’s world would be to give them Ritalin as soon as they start ‘acting up’…

In fact, Novartis, the manufactures of Ritalin, launched Atorvastatin, a generic version of the statin Lipitor, in 2011… They probably saw the massive upsell potential. It’s probably a two-birds-with-one-stone thing, I guess, and I’m pretty sure they will soon combine Ritalin and Atorvastatin in handy family packs…

What a life, hey? You’re barely ten and already you are on a cocktail of side-effect-ridden drugs!

Francois Lubbe
UK Editor

The article above reminded me again that you should always know and understand what chemicals you are putting into your body and what the ultimate result will be . Chemicals will often have long lasting after effects, consider the difference between that and natural herbal medications. Remember that herbal medications too can have side effects.

Always purchase your herbal medications from a well know and respected source.

Maybe you could think about this ” whenever you put chemicals in your body instead of herbal medications , maybe your body sees them as foreign bodies” . The body systems seem to react in both positive and negative ways , more often than we want to believe, your body systems could be reacting to the chemical, the very thing that was supposed to help you could be poisoning you. Why not use herbal medications instead then? The main difference between chemical medication and natural herbal medications is the manufacturing process of the chemicals . Herbal medications can be very effective without the harmful side effects.

Seems like a good time to consider giving herbal medications a try, in my opinion !

Specific herbs and herbal remedies are known for their preventative qualities as they help to enhance a weak immune system.

I use Herbs and Herbal Remedies to maintain a healthy mind and body because they are a natural treatment method and carry with them the least side effects.

The fact that a herbal remedies approach for health and well being has been used by mankind for many generations in all parts of the world speaks for the effectiveness of natural herbal remedies.

Specific herbs and herbal remedies are known for their preventative qualities that help to enhance a weak immune system.

When used properly herbal remedies are a beneficial and safe approach to alleviating disease by balancing the body’s own regulatory system and eliminating harmful toxins from the body.

Even though herbs are remarkably safe, we should remember that herbs and herbal remedies are a form of medicine and need to be used with care according to product directions.

Herbs are a naturally complex mix of vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates working in sync to bring about healing. Even though as much as 75% of patented prescription drugs are based on herbs the actual chemical structure of herbal medicinal plants is often a mystery and difficult to replicate in the pharmaceutical lab.

When deciding to use herbs and herbal remedies, medical consultation is always wise, especially when experiencing prolonged serious medical problems.

It is also extremely urgent that you only purchase herbs and herbal remedies from creditable suppliers.

Native Remedies are one of those creditable companies carrying safe herbs and herbal remedies .

I purchase herbal remedies from Native Remedies with confidence .

I consider them a safe and creditable company because of the high standards they have set for themselves.

A recent unbiased review of Native Remedies was published by Mark John Hiemstra.

“Native Remedies sell herbal and homeopathic remedies in a variety of categories. All of their products are manufactured according to strict guidelines, and only high-quality raw ingredients. You’ll be pleased to know that each of their solutions is manufactured in an FDA-registered pharmaceutical facility with a team of experts close at hand to ensure that the final product is safe and effective.” (Native Remedies review, nativeremedies.com coupons, http://www.healthproductreviews.com/stores/native-remedies/ (Accessed April 30, 2012)

Herbs and herbal remedies will continue to gain favor among cultures because pharmaceuticals carry with them many side effects .

Vitamin K may very well be “the next vitamin D” as research continues to illuminate a growing number of benefits to your health.

It is probably where vitamin D was ten years ago with respect to its appreciation as a vital nutrient that has far more benefits than was originally recognized.

And, according to Dr. Cees Vermeer, one of the world’s top researchers in the field of vitamin K, nearly everyone is deficient in vitamin K – just like most are deficient in D.

Vitamin K measurements in blood plasma can be done accurately, but the results are not necessarily helpful because they mainly reflect what you ate yesterday. Because of this, we will have to trust Dr. Vermeer on his assessment that most are too deficient to reap all of its health benefits. Vitamin K researchers across the world will acknowledge him as a leader in this field.

Most people get enough Vitamin K from their diets to maintain adequate blood clotting, but NOT enough to offer protection against the following health problems—and the list is growing:

•Arterial calcification, cardiovascular disease and varicose veins
•Osteoporosis
•Prostate cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer and leukemia
•Brain health problems, including dementia, the specifics of which are still being studied

Vitamin K comes in two forms, and it is important to understand the differences between them before devising your nutritional plan of attack.

The Two Basic Types of Vitamin K

Vitamin K can be classified as either K1 or K2:
1.Vitamin K1: Found in green vegetables, K1 goes directly to your liver and helps you maintain a healthy blood clotting system. (This is the kind of K that infants need to help prevent a serious bleeding disorder.) It is also vitamin K1 that keeps your own blood vessels from calcifying, and helps your bones retain calcium and develop the right crystalline structure.
2.Vitamin K2: Bacteria produce this type of vitamin K. It is present in high quantities in your gut, but unfortunately is not absorbed from there and passes out in your stool. K2 goes straight to vessel walls, bones, and tissues other than your liver. It is present in fermented foods, particularly cheese and the Japanese food natto, which is by far the richest source of K2.

Vitamin K1 can convert to K2 in your body, but there are some problems with this, which I will discuss shortly. As a supplement, K1 is less expensive, which is why it’s the form used for neonates.

Making matters even more complex, there are several different forms of vitamin K2.

MK8 and MK9 come primarily from dairy products. MK4 and MK7 are the two most significant forms of K2, and act very differently in your body:
•MK4 is a synthetic product, very similar to vitamin K1, and your body is capable of converting K1 into MK4. However, MK4 has a very short half-life of about one hour, making it a poor candidate as a dietary supplement. After reaching your intestines, it remains mostly in your liver, where it is useful in synthesizing blood-clotting factors.
•MK7 is a newer agent with more practical applications because it stays in your body longer; its half-life is three days, meaning you have a much better chance of building up a consistent blood level, compared to MK4 or K1. MK7 is extracted from the Japanese fermented soy product called natto. You could actually get loads of MK7 from consuming natto as it is relatively inexpensive, and is available in most Asian food markets. Few people, however, tolerate it’s smell and slimy texture.

Let’s take a look at what scientific studies are showing us about vitamin K2.

Vitamin K Research has Come a Long Way

In 2008, a German research group discovered that vitamin K2 provides substantial protection from prostate cancer[1], which is one of the leading causes of cancer among men in the United States. According to Dr. Vermeer, men taking the highest amounts of K2 have about 50 percent less prostate cancer.

Research results are similarly encouraging for the benefits of vitamin K to your cardiac health:
•In 2004, the Rotterdam Study, which was the first study demonstrating the beneficial effect of vitamin K2, showed that people who consume 45 mcg of K2 daily live seven years longer than people getting 12 mcg per day[2].
•In a subsequent study called the Prospect Study[3], 16,000 people were followed for 10 years. Researchers found that each additional 10 mcg of K2 in the diet results in 9 percent fewer cardiac events.

Preliminary findings also suggest that vitamin K can help protect you from brain disease. However, it is too early to say exactly what types of damage it prevents—and how—but it is an area of intense interest to vitamin K scientists right now.

Vitamin K2 is CRUCIAL in Preventing Osteoporosis

The evidence suggests that vitamin K2 is essential for your bone health, but it is a nutrient the vast majority of you do not get in adequate amounts from your diet.

How does vitamin K lead to bone health?

Osteocalcin is a protein produced by your osteoblasts (cells responsible for bone formation), and is utilized within the bone as an integral part of the bone-forming process. However, osteocalcin must be “carboxylated” before it can be effective. Vitamin K functions as a cofactor for the enzyme that catalyzes the carboxylation of osteocalcin.

Vitamin K2 has been found to be a far more effective “activator” of osteocalcin than K1.

There has been some remarkable research about the protective effects of vitamin K2 against osteoporosis:
•A number of Japanese trials have shown that vitamin K2 completely reverses bone loss and in some cases even increases bone mass in people with osteoporosis[4].
•The pooled evidence of seven Japanese trials show that vitamin K2 supplementation produces a 60 percent reduction in vertebral fractures and an 80 percent reduction in hip and other non-vertebral fractures[5].
•Researchers in the Netherlands showed that vitamin K2 is three times more effective than vitamin K1 in raising osteocalcin, which controls the building of bone[6].

Although your body can convert K1 into K2, studies show that the amount of K2 produced by this process alone is insufficient. Even if you are consuming enough K1, your body uses most of it to make clotting factors, leaving little remaining for your bones.

In other words, your liver preferentially uses vitamin K1 to activate clotting factors, while most of your other tissues preferentially use K2.

Vitamin K2 has also been found to offer you other benefits—besides your bones!

Vitamin K2 Lowers Your Cancer Risk

As mentioned earlier, we are also learning that vitamin K2 has a major role in preventing cancer.

The recent European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) study[7], published in the March 2010 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found high intake of vitamin K2—not K1—leads to reduced cancer risk, as well as a thirty percent lower risk of dying from cancer[8].

A study funded by the National Cancer Institute found that vitamin K2 might help reduce the risk for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Mayo Clinic researchers discovered that people with the highest intake of vitamin K2 had a 45 percent lower risk for this type of cancer, compared to those with the lowest vitamin K2 intake[9].

Scientists attribute this to the important role that vitamin K2 plays in inhibiting inflammatory cytokines, which are related to this type of lymphoma, and vitamin K’s role the lifecycle of your cells.

Are You Getting Enough Vitamin K from Your Diet?

Eating lots of green vegetables will increase your vitamin K1 levels naturally, especially:
•Kale
•Spinach
•Collard greens
•Broccoli
•Brussels sprouts

You can obtain all the K2 you’ll need (about 200 micrograms) by eating 15 grams of natto daily, which is half an ounce. However, natto is generally not pleasing to the Westerner’s palate, so the next best thing is a vitamin K2 supplement.

But remember, you must always take your vitamin K supplement with fat since it is fat-soluble and won’t be absorbed without it.

Although the exact dosing is yet to be determined, Dr. Vermeer recommends between 45 mcg and 185 mcg daily for adults. You must use caution on the higher doses if you take anticoagulants, but if you are generally healthy and not on these types of medications, I suggest 150 mcg daily.

Fortunately, you don’t need to worry about overdosing on K2—people have been given a thousand-fold “overdose” over the course of three years, showing no adverse reactions (i.e., no increased clotting tendencies).

The Synergistic Effects Between Vitamin K and Vitamin D

It’s important to realize that vitamin K does not work alone. It needs collaborators—and vitamin D is an important one.

These two agents work together to increase MGP, or Matrix GLA Protein, which is the protein that is responsible for protecting your blood vessels from calcification. In fact, MGP is so important that it can be used as a laboratory measure of your vascular and cardiac status.

The results of human clinical studies suggest that concurrent use of vitamin K2 and vitamin D may substantially reduce bone loss.

If you are concerned about your bones, you must balance this nutritional triad:
1.Vitamin D
2.Vitamin K
3.Calcium

Increasing calcium is good for your bones but not so beneficial for your arteries, which can become calcified, but vitamin K protects your blood vessels from calcifying when in the presence of high calcium levels.

So you really must pay attention to the synergism of all three of these nutrients if you want to optimize your benefits.

I am convinced we are seeing just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to vitamin K and its many valuable functions in your health. It’s truly an exciting area in nutritional science today.

In the meantime it is my STRONG encouragement to make sure you find some regular source of vitamin K2. This will mean eating about four ounces of fermented cheese a day (preferably raw) or taking a high quality vitamin K2 supplement.

It is my strong belief that in ten years time there will be as much passion and appreciation for this stealth vitamin as we have for vitamin D today.
